Help online
EASYTVA allows
you to verify the validity of a VAT identification number issued by a
European Member State by selecting the Member State, selecting the
language, and specifying the VAT number you wish to validate.
The verification
is done against the national VAT database corresponding to the selected
Member State. For the purpose of the verification, your request is sent
to the national database of the European Member state, and the reply is
sent back in a few seconds.
Please take into
account that if the VAT number contains alphabetic characters, (see
VAT structure )
these should be
typed in upper case letters. Spaces and dots between blocks of digits
should be ignored. The number should be typed as a continuous string
without spaces or dots.
You then click
on the "Verify" button and get the following possible answers:
-
Yes, valid VAT
number.
-
No, invalid VAT number.
(meaning that the number introduced is not valid at least on the
date specified)
-
Service unavailable. Please
re-submit your request later. (meaning there is some problem with
either the network or the Web application)
-
Member State service
unavailable. Please re-submit your request later.(meaning the
application in the Member State whose VAT number you are trying to
validate is not available)
-
Error: Incomplete (VAT +
Member State) or corrupted data input.
-
Request time-out. Please
re-submit your request later.
In the case of a
valid VAT number, if the name and/or address are replaced by '---', this
means that the Member State that issued the VAT number does not allow to
disclose this information.
